Griffin Gun Club Come shoot with us

Black Powder Shooters shoot traditional style muzzle-loading guns, cap-lock and flintlock.  Lead projectiles are patched round-balls only, no bullets or minie balls.

Matches are all fired offhand (standing) at 25, 50, and 100 yds.

Primarily Black Powder Shooters shoot paper targets, round bulls-eye or animal silhouettes but in July each year at a special shoot, Black Powder Shooters shoot animal silhouettes such as crows at 50 yds. and woodchucks at 100 yds.

Black Powder Shooters also have a muzzle-loading pistol match.  Any muzzle-loading pistol with open iron sights is allowed.  Ten shots at 25 yds. and ten shots at 50 yds, standing, single hand hold (bulls-eye style).

All matches begin at 10:00 AM on the first Sunday of each month from January through September.

Rib-eye steaks are usually given for prizes.

Ladies and juniors are welcome and encouraged, costume dress is not required.
